2009 community impact
Our fiscal year 2009 Community Impact describes the progress we have made in the last year to end and prevent homlessness in DuPage County.
key Highlights
- This year 119 families asked for assistance through DuPage PADS, a 49% increase over last year.
- 152 children were without the safety of a home in our county, a 43% increase over last year. 75 of these children are under the age of 5.
- We have 51 units of Permanent Supportive Housing throughout the county. 80% of those in Permanent Supportive Housing have retained their housing for over 2 years.
- 12 families secured housing with home-based case management through a partnership with the DuPage Housing Authority.
housing solutions
DuPage PADS has the solution to end homelessness: provide housing options combined with life skills and employment services.
By offering the necessary life skills and employment services, we can help to prevent our participants from recycling back to the streets. We empower them to rebound and rebuild their lives while holding them accountable for their own progress. And we do this with the compassion and respect each individual deserves.
DuPage PADS works in partnership with faith-based and community groups plus thousands of dedicated volunteers with one goal in mind: to end homelessness throughout the county.
This year we are issuing a call to action for each person involved in government, congregations, businesses, corporations and our community. The time is now to build bigger solutions and seize opportunities for change.
