Janelle Barcelona Recognized as Women of the Month by Naperville Women in Business
This week, Janelle Barcelona, DuPagePads Vice President of Development, was recognized before the Naperville Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business group at a breakfast meeting for being selected as Woman of the Month. Recipients of this honor are nominated by peers and then selected by a committee.
With more than 25 years of nonprofit experience, Janelle started her career as a corporate buyer and manager of a sophisticated logistical model for Signode Industrial Group and then went on to work as an Assistant Professor of Management and Marketing at North Central College for over 20 years. From 2006-2011, Janelle worked as a philanthropic consultant, with clients including Ohio State, YMCAs and DuPagePads.
Drawn to DuPagePads dynamic leadership of the agency and mission to end homelessness, the vision of the agency aligned with Janelle’s perseverance and positive outlook.
In her first five years at DuPagePads, event revenue doubled and private grants increased by 70%.
Janelle was recently featured on the Naperville Chamber of Commerce’s blog, where she said, “Rather than seeing situations as challenges to overcome, see them as opportunities to achieve. This mindset takes training to develop, but I’ve found its roots are found in faith, kindness and sincerity.”
DuPagePads Board of Directors and staff attended the Women in Business meeting on May 2nd where Janelle Barcelona was featured.
