For 14 years DuPagePads’ Taste of Hope has brought our community together for an inspiring and delicious evening. Since the Taste of Hope’s debut in 2007, delectable food, community involvement, and inspiring tales of hope have told the story of how DuPagePads is ending homelessness. Here are the highlights of this yearly event, and what to expect when you attend on March 5th!

2006– DuPagePads recognized our 20th anniversary with a special Emerald Gala! The celebration was such a success the idea to have an annual formal event was born.

2007-This was the first year the event was held as the Taste of Hope. It was hosted in the Esplanade Lakes Ballroom in Downers Grove and appealed many community members with sample dishes from 25 leading area restaurants

2008-The Taste of Hope moved to Abbington Banquets in Glen Ellyn to offer room for more guests. This is now the venue where DuPagePads’ Wake Up Your Spirit Breakfast is held!

2010– This year featured a People’s Choice survey and one restaurant was awarded the honor at the end of the night.

2012– Marion Kraus, a professional photographer, volunteered his time and talents to capture images of DuPagePads clients and staff which were premiered at the Taste of Hope

2013, 2014-Local students curate a “Cooking for Pads” cookbook that would help volunteers and clients learn how to prepare healthy, easy meals.

2015– The first time mobile bidding was added for live and silent auctions bringing the excitement of the auction to all the guests fingertips.

2016-With Taste of Hope interest growing each year, the event moved to Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace where it will be held on March 5th 2020.

2017- Special Guest Kalee Dionne, NBC 5 Chicago meteorologist emceed the event including more live and silent auction items, raffles, and winepull!

carol head shot2020- DuPagePads honors Carol Simler for 23 years of exemplary leadership in advance of her recently announced retirement while recognizing 35 years of service on 3/5.

The 14th Annual Taste of Hope takes place Thursday, March 5th 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace.
