National Volunteer Week 2014; DuPagePads Appreciates Volunteers

National Volunteer Week is April 6-12, 2014; however we are celebrating our volunteers all month long. This year marks the 40th anniversary of National Volunteer Week, demonstrating the importance of recognizing our country’s volunteers for their vital contributions.

DuPagePads 4,000 volunteers are a force of positive change in our community and are the heart and soul of our mission to end homelessness. We appreciate how hardworking, generous and dedicated our volunteers are, helping with everything from making a meal, to setting up sleeping areas, to listening to someone’s story at our Client Service Center. Some of our program participants shared their appreciation for our volunteers:

“Thank you for coming out for us month after month, bringing homemade goodies and for caring about us. Thank you for listening to us when we want to talk and for your humble acts to service.”

– Linda

“I really appreciate all of your time and dedication to helping us. You all are so friendly, compassionate and caring. You treat us with respect and dignity. I cannot express how thankful I am for all that you do.”

“Thank you for believing in goodness of people and for the essential needs you help fulfill.”
