Drive for 75
The Race to End Homelessness
Are you a thrill seeker? Are you looking for a fresh new way to support your community?
If the answer is yes, join us for the Drive for 75 on June 29, 2014 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet.
Continental Motors Group of Naperville and DuPage Pads have teamed up for the fourth annual karting enduro for charity! The Drive for 75 is a fundraiser like no other. 15 teams will compete in a fast-paced, four-hour karting race. The top fundraisers will receive racing advantages, all with the goal of raising more than $75,000 for DuPage Pads’ mission to end homelessness.
Joel Weinberger, Owner/President of Continental Motors Group, came up with this creative fundraiser in 2011. The first year it was called the Drive for 25, with the goal of raising $25,000. In its inaugural year, the event raised nearly $50,000 for DuPage Pads. The next year, the event was called the
Drive for 55 and ended up raising more than $90,000. For the past two years the event has had the goal to raise $75,000, last year raising more than $106,000.
The funds raised provide people who are homeless with housing, support services and employment. This event continues to support these key programs, helping people obtain stable housing and rebuild their lives.
“The teams are competitive on the course, but even more so in their fundraising for DuPage Pads. At the end of the race day, everyone will walk away a little tired, but more importantly, proud of what their efforts have accomplished for this organization,” Weinberger said, who also serves as DuPage Pads Board of Directors Vice President.
New to the event this year is the outdoor Autobahn Country Club race course, offering a longer, exclusive, never-before-run configuration. Less experienced racers will still have a chance at reaching the podium; teams will compete for awards based on their karting experience level.
Sign up today! To reserve your spot on the track, teams are asked to raise an initial $750 for DuPage Pads. This donation will allow you to select your individual team t-shirt color and begin collecting donations. Teams will be given their own fundraising web page to make donating online easy to share with their friends and family.
