Yes, PADS, or Public Action to Deliver Shelter, is the group that coordinates the overnight housing for homeless people that rotates among 31 churches in DuPage County.
But it’s that and so much more.
The organization’s efforts on behalf of the homeless reach much further than providing shelter on a chilly night. PADS offers a range of services, from long- term housing to counseling and life skills coaching — all de- signed to help homeless people get back on their feet and regain their self-sufficiency.
Kathleen Johnson, PADS director of development, reintroduces us to an organization many already know by name.
