WHEATON, ILLINOIS – Today, just as it has for 25 years, DuPage PADS continues to provide hope for men, women and children who are homeless. Moving beyond providing shelter and meals, DuPage PADS has evolved to provide an array of services which seek to stop the cycle of homelessness in DuPage County.

As part of their 25th anniversary, DuPage PADS is having their 7th Annual Run/Walk on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 8 a.m., beginning at 703 W. Liberty in Wheaton. This 5K CARA approved course appeals to serious runners, casual joggers and families alike.

Funds raised from this event help support individuals, families and children in need. DuPage PADS is open 365 days a year and it is critical that they continue to provide interim housing, support services and employment assistance to help those who are homeless to work toward self-sufficiency.

“This event would not be possible without our generous sponsors,” said Carol Simler, Executive Director of DuPage PADS. “Their partnership helps us provide the solution to end homelessness and for that we can’t say thank you enough.” Some of this year’s Run/Walk gold sponsors include Mike Runs 100, K2 Industrial Services, Ray & Mary Schulte, Republic Bank and T2 Capital Management.

Individual runners, families, groups of friends, companies, clubs and congregations are invited to be part of this FUNdraiser! Rain or shine, all are invited to stay for music, refreshments and prizes after the race.

To participate in this year’s Run/Walk, visit the web site at www.padsrun.org or call 630.682.3846 for more information.
