Our mission to end homelessness is important to me as I have personally experienced the impact of what being unhoused can do to the soul and spirit of individuals. We make sure that those who are in need are provided the tools that they need to live fulfilling lives.

I have been involved with DuPagePads through my church for almost 10 years. I have seen first hand the real impact we are making on people’s lives. I joined the board because I saw the real need to support those less fortunate in our area and I wanted to expand my involvement with this great organization. .

I am happy to be able to contribute my experience and knowledge to DuPagePads to help end homelessness in DuPage County. Solving the issue of affordable housing, particularly here in DuPage County, has been near and dear to my heart since I began my career in architecture. Creating a better place for all our populace to live will only strengthen our neighborhoods and sense of pride in our community.

Our mission to end homelessness is deeply important to me for many reasons. It’s not just about providing shelter; it’s about restoring dignity, hope, and opportunity to those who have fallen on challenging times. Everyone deserves a safe place to call home and the chance to rebuild their lives.

After volunteering for a few years, being involved as a board member is meaningful to me because I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the work that was being done by this great organization. Not only does DuPagePads assist those challenged with housing needs, but there are also so many other resources they provide to help individuals. Being on the board allows me to have just a little bit of an impact to all the great work being done by one of the most dedicated non-profit teams I have ever worked with.

DuPagePads means so much to me because of the many homeless families living in shelters or their cars secondary to lack of affordable housing. So many individuals struggle to make a living wage – living paycheck to paycheck, or perhaps struggle with mental illness. As community members, we need to ensure that every member of our community has access to a stable environment for their own personal dignity and the health and well-being of our broader community to alleviate the strain on public resources such as healthcare.

I joined DuPagePads Board of Directors because giving back to our fellow Americans is not a choice but an obligation. Instilling this in our own children today will insure that our future will have these same values. DuPagePads allows me to fulfill this mission by helping those closest to me in my own community.

Watching DuPagePads expand their outreach and services with the acquisition of the Interim Housing Center inspired me to make a greater contribution of time and energy to reaching out to the homeless community and work towards the goal of ending homelessness in DuPage County.

I joined DuPagePads Board of Directors because I believe every person deserves a safe place to call home. Family is important to me and being able to share in the little, spontaneous moments of joy which occur in a home with your family make life meaningful. I also volunteered with DuPagePads as a child so it holds a special place with me personally.
The solution to end homelessness starts with housing.
The solution to end homelessness is more complex than providing individuals with food and shelter. Founded in 1985, DuPagePads is the largest provider of interim and permanent housing, coupled with support services in order to help individuals work toward a place to call home – DuPage Pads vital support services enable the individuals we help to receive case management and life coaching, employment support such as GED courses and job coaching, as well as engagement with employers—effectively stopping the cycle of homelessness.
DuPagePads IS the solution to end homelessness — because when someone believes in you, everything can change.
