Drive for 95, The Race to End Homelessness
Few Spots Remain for Thrilling Karting Enduro
Wheaton, IL (May 22, 2018)
Continental Motors of Naperville and DuPagePads have teamed up again for the eighth annual four-hour karting enduro for charity. Up to fifteen teams will compete in raising funds, with the goal of raising $95,000 for DuPagePads to assist families and individuals who are homeless. This year’s race will take place on Sunday, June 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL.
Over the past 7 years this event has raised $595,000, all going toward housing programs and support services for those who are homeless.
Patrick Gniadek has participated in this unique fundraiser every year since the event started. He shares, “it’s given me a chance to support a charity that directly helps people right in my own hometown. I also love the way DuPagePads helps people by offering assistance, training and housing that leads to permanent solutions. However, I’m not going to lie, we all have an absolute blast with all aspects of the karting event. Now the event has become a great reason to connect with old friends and enjoy laps of pretend race-car driving.”
Space is limited to 15 participating teams and only a few spots remain. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $3,000 per team to help achieve the $95,000 goal. Racing advantages will be given to top fundraising teams.
“The teams are competitive on the course, but even more so in their fundraising for DuPagePads. At the end of the race day, everyone will walk away a little tired, but more importantly, proud of what their efforts have accomplished for this organization,” says Joel Weinberger, DuPagePads Board Advisor.
Recognizing over 30 years of service, DuPagePads is the largest provider of services to those who are homeless in DuPage County. DuPagePads’ solution to ending homelessness is housing, coupled with support services and employment to restore hope and transform lives. The administration office is located at 601 West Liberty, Wheaton, IL 60187. Additional information can be obtained by contacting DuPagePads at 630.682.3846 or at www.dupagepads.org.
