Prairie Path Foot & Ankle Clinic Sock Drive
Prairie Path Foot & Ankle Clinic hosted their 4th Annual Sock Drive throughout the month of November to benefit DuPagePads. They are matching pair for pair, all socks that are donated, making the impact of the drive that much greater! Over the past 3 years, Prairie Path Foot & Ankle Clinic donated over 2,000 pairs of socks to DuPagePads, including their match.
Dr. Misty McNeill, owner of Prairie Path Foot & Ankle Clinic shares why the sock drive is so important. “It takes less than 30 minutes to get frostbite in sub-zero temperatures, and as Chicago experiences many of these days each winter, the risk of frostbite is high. Toes and fingers are the most susceptible areas to frostbite, therefore protection is very important.”
This year, Prairie Path Foot & Ankle Clinic teamed up with Conrad Fischer Elementary, also doing a sock drive in November, matching the first 250 pairs collected by the school. Sara Dennison, parent organizer of the Conrad Fischer Sock Drive said, “I think it will really motivate the kids to know that the first 250 pairs we collect will be doubled!”
Prairie Path Foot & Ankle Clinic collected 1,095 socks this November. They will be matching this with 1,100 pairs of thermal socks! A total of 2,195 socks!
Thank you to Prairie Path Foot and Ankle Clinic and everyone who assisted in collecting almost 2,200 socks! The magnitude of these in-kind donations will help DuPagePads transform lives and keep feet warm.
