New Video: Career Employment Solutions
Learn about three new Soft Skills programs within DuPagePads Career Employment Solutions: Career Readiness, Transforming the Impossible into Possible and Social Coaching through our new video.
Career Employment Solutions
DuPagePads serves those living at the lowest income levels in the community – families and individuals who are homeless. Breaking the cycle of homelessness is significantly more challenging without employment and earning a living wage is a critical component in gaining financial stability.
DuPagePads Career Employment Solutions program assists participants in becoming job-qualified. This program partners with over 100 local employers to match clients’ skills and interests with opportunities in the community.
New Soft Skills Programs
Recently, DuPagePads expanded our Career Solutions program by adding three new soft skills programs:
1: Career Readiness
DuPagePads Career Readiness program utilizes an assessment tool to determine if our clients are ready to pursue employment.
“If they are not ready for employment, they can actually set goals and give themselves a timeline of when those goals can be matched,” Lutisha Jefferson, Career Employment Solutions Director explains.
2: Transforming the Impossible into Possible (TIP)
TIP is a six-week, self-empowerment course that is aimed at increasing client’s willingness to want to work.
“This program actually drives clients to change from the inside out,” Lutisha says.
3: Social Coaching
This mentoring program provides encouragement and soft skill coaching for clients, whether they are starting a new position or acclimating to the workplace culture.
“We all need a mentor in our lives…especially our clients. They need someone that is going to give them that extra push to keep them motivated,” Lutisha shares.
Ending Homelessness
With these new soft skills programs, DuPagePads is working to move people from homelessness to stable housing.
“We are trying to match the client to the career and the career to the client. DuPagePads wants clients to find a career and not just a job,” Lutisha says.
