Three New Year’s Resolutions that Help End Homelessness
Did You Know:
Consider these three New Year’s Resolutions that will help families and individuals who are homeless, while boosting your mental health.
1. Commit to Volunteering Once a Month (or more)!
DuPagePads Interim (Overnight) Housing Sites are always looking for Overnight Site Monitor volunteers to help once a month for 3 to 4 hours! There are various shifts from 8:30pm to 5:30am. Learn more about being a Site Monitor.
Are you available for 3 hours once a week (Monday through Friday) between 8:30am and 1:00pm? We are looking for volunteers to help sort and organize donations at our Client Service Center and Storage facility during this busy holiday season. Learn more about being a Supply Room Volunteer.
*Volunteers need to be mobile and able to lift 20 pounds.
2. Step-Up and Lead Your Own Group!
Support Coordinators are needed to provide leadership and coordination for an entire night of service (5:30pm-7:30am). With guidance and resources from DuPagePads, your responsibilities include recruiting and scheduling volunteers and meals.
See more information about being a Support Coordinator or contact Josie Mattern, DuPagePads Volunteer Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Are you busy and don’t have time to volunteer on a regular basis? Consider donating to DuPagePads or becoming a Pads Partner! DuPagePads is the largest provider of homeless services in the county, but it is not enough to only provide shelter. Ending homelessness must include resources and services that help people escape the cycle of homelessness.
