After Raising $40,000 by Running 100 Miles Every Year Since 2010
For the past four years, Mike DeMeritt has hosted a successful fundraiser in support of DuPagePads. By running 100 miles each year since 2010, Mike has raised more than $40,000 to benefit DuPagePads Annual Run-Walk event held in September.
On August 30, 2014, Mike will begin a new fundraiser, Mike Lifts 100 Tons, to support DuPagePads. From 8:00am-4:00am, Mike will lift weights to reach a cumulative total of 100 tons at the Crossfit Carol Stream.
Individuals are invited to come encourage Mike as he takes on this new challenge, eat healthy snacks and donate to his fundraising goal. Secure, online donations can be made on his website: http://bit.ly/MikeLifts
“Mike’s continued support of our mission to end homelessness is truly inspirational. His physically challenging fundraisers speak to his determination and dedication. These are the same qualities needed in our work to assist families and individuals move to a place they can call home,” said Carol Simler, DuPagePads President & CEO.
Mike DeMeritt has already raised more than $6,700 in pledges and hopes to reach more than $10,000 by Saturday, September 6, in time for DuPage Pads 10th Annual Run for Home, 10K & 5K Run, 5K Walk! Mike will join fellow supporters of DuPagePads as they end homelessness one step at a time. Proceeds from the event will fund the agency’s solution to end homelessness, housing coupled with support services and employment.
