Thank You Villa Park Office Equipment!

Last month, Villa Park Office Equipment’s 8th Annual Food Drive brought the joy of Thanksgiving to our clients.

Holiday meal bags were delivered to our tenants, along with gift cards for each household to purchase their chosen holiday meal.

To create an even larger donation, our friends enlisted the support of local schools, organizations, and businesses. Placing bins at community locations not only brought attention to help people who are hungry but also provided an easy way for people to donate.

A total of 171 meal bags were created for families and individuals. The 59 bins donated also contained extra food items that will also ensure our shelves are stocked for assisting clients throughout the entire coming year.

These efforts helped make the largest collection ever which included $3,120 in monetary donations and gift cards as well as a record-high 6,392 food items. This was a 50% increase to what the drive brought in last year.

Carol Simler, DuPagePads President & CEO, is incredibly grateful:

Tenants in our DuPagePads Supportive Housing now have necessary food items to create a delicious holiday meal.  In addition, those in our Housing NOW and Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program are benefitting as well. The extra food bags will allow us to serve those in our housing programs as well as those who are homeless and healing in our Medical Respite program who will not have to worry about meals but instead can focus on their health.  Because of you and all those who participated in the 2019 Villa Park Office Equipment Thanksgiving Food Drive we know for sure when someone believes in you, everything can change!”

The holiday meal bags are provided to tenants in DuPagePads Supportive Housing apartments. This program provides subsidized housing for those that had been homeless for a year or longer and have a documented disability or disabling health condition.

Clients in this program are living on tight budgets, so the holiday meal bag donations are were certainly appreciated. A huge thank you to all who supported these efforts!
