Wheaton, IL (May 31, 2019) Continental Motors of Naperville and DuPagePads have teamed up again for the ninth annual four-hour karting enduro. This year’s race will take place on Sunday, July 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Autobahn Country Club’s newly expanded outdoor karting track in Joliet, IL.
Over the past 8 years this highly anticipated event has raised more than $720,000, all going toward housing programs and support services provided by DuPagePads for those who are homeless. Patrick Gniadek has participated in this fundraiser every year. He shares, “it’s given me a chance to support a charity that directly helps people right in my own hometown. I also love the way DuPagePads helps people by offering assistance, training and housing that leads to permanent solutions. However, I’m not going to lie, we all have an absolute blast with all aspects of the karting event. Now the event has become a great reason to connect with old friends and enjoy laps of pretend race-car driving.”
Fifteen teams compete both on the track and to see who can raise the most funds, with the goal of raising $105,000 for DuPagePads to assist families and individuals who are homeless. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $5,000 per team to help achieve the $105,000 goal. Racing advantages are given to the top fundraising teams.
“The teams are competitive on the course, but even more so in their fundraising for DuPagePads. At the end of the race day, everyone will walk away a little tired, but more importantly, proud of what their efforts have accomplished for this organization,” says Joel Weinberger, DuPagePads Board Advisor.
Now is the time to register before the 15 team spots are filled. For more information and to register, please contact Carrie at 630.682.3846 ext.2290 or CFlick@dupagepads.org.
