Board Chair Responds to Rauner’s Budget Cuts
In a My Suburban Life Community Voice article published yesterday, Jane Doyle, DuPage Pads Board Chair, responded to Governor Rauner’s proposed budget, which severely cuts supportive housing programs that save money for the state.
In Jane’s article titled, “Supportive Housing is a Sound Investment for Illinois,” she states, “More than 10,300 people living in every corner of the state would be impacted by the proposed budget. This cut puts each and every man, woman and child currently in supportive housing in danger of returning to homelessness or institutionalization…The elimination of supportive services will create a catastrophic domino effect of lost funding.”
